DSHC Mens 1st Team Vs OPM

This Saturday our men’s team made the journey across town to face OPM.

OPM took the lead early on after some sloppy defending from us, which seemed to encapsulate our sluggish start to the game.

A fantastic diagonal through ball from Simon 'Frankie' Fraser was picked up well by John A Rigby who still had lots to do, but who was able to score well past the keeper from 6 feet out.

Jack Grace grabbed a well taken goal in the second half to put us ahead as OPM began to wobble.

We pushed on and Connor Hatton scored a great opportunistic goal at the back post to take us up 3:1.

We shut up shop, and OPM’s increased the pressure as they tried to find a way back into the game.
Several exceptional Geoff Flowers saves kept us ahead, including one down low to his right that his mate Maddie Hinch would have been proud of!

In what was almost the last hit of the game, OPM managed to breach our resilient defence.
The initial shot was saved well by Geoff but the second ball was reacted to quicker by OPM to grab a late consolation goal.

MoTM: Ewan Dodson - returning from a long term injury, putting in an absolute shift in midfield and then causing problems up front!

DoD: James Vine - picking up a green card and losing his cool!
