Match Report Weather-Dry(ish).

Building on last weeks strong draw against Tavi there was plenty of enthusiasm for todays game. A typical hurried opening 10 minutes led to a dominant period of quick, short, sharp passing and a good goal from Eddy. Score was soon 1-1 following a wobble where some usually slick passing went astray allowing their best player into the D where he hit an absolute howitzer . However due to some good play around the D and another good finish from Eddy it was 2-1 to us at half time. Good half time talks from Jim and a refresher on press positions from Andy resulted in a strong start to the second half. Truro had a good blend of youth and experience the latter enabling them to catch us on the break making it 2-2. Good work from CDMs, Simon and Andy linking well with MID, Will, enabled Eddy to sneak in for his well deserved hat trick before a dominant period of play resulted in Eddy bagging his fourth goal making it 4-2. With time running out and possession required to see out the match our Right Centre Back inexplicably mistook Jim for the opposition forward when he passed back putting them through on goal. Despite Carl’s heroics in goal, thank god he was wearing a box, they scored from the deflection making it 4-3. We held on to the ball for the remainder of the game earning a good victory. A good game all round, played in the correct spirit, no cards or umbridge with officials, backed up with some excellent performances throughout by all. MoM went to Eddy, a runaway victory, with Simon and Jim as deserved runners up. DoD went to Chris Pitt for his shocker of a backpass late on. Special mention to Carl for his efforts in goal, and to the whole squad for showing the drive and effort needed to push the Team onwards and upwards..more of the same next week!!
