DSHC vs Duchy (1-2)

Saturday 29th February, a date that occurs once every 4 years. Much like the fact that Dom 'golden arches' Lyons turned up on time and without stopping at any service stations along the way! Only because he wasn't driving though, obviously.

The game started well with the DS 'boys' controlling the game and creating chances that we unfortunately just couldn't take. Our pressure eventually paid off though when our 3rd short corner of the match was injected to yours truly and calmly smashed in the direction of CC Simon Fraser to expertly deflect it goalwards. Unfortunately that's where the good news ends. Despite being the better team throughout the entire game, we eventually found ourselves level and searching for a winner. Our press worked extremely well all day with their only option being a big aerial ball from the back every single time. Luckily our defence were on hand to pick anything that came their way right out of the air ....... at least until 5 minutes before the end of the game when a slight mix up between 2 members of said defence resulted in a 1 on 1 with our keeper and unfortunately a goal.

The game finished 2-1 to duchy and leaves us needing some big results in the next few weeks to see us stay in this league!

Thanks to all that played on Saturday, especially the players travelling much further than most! Oh and Reece for once again changing his plans last minute to bail us out!

And also a big thankyou to our top fans Sam and Emma for travelling to Camborne after their own game to support! Although Em missed a trick by not using the leap day as the perfect time to propose to Dom! Only 4 years to wait Em
